Our Executive Chef is Gary V. Powell, USPCA.
A former attorney and business owner, Mr. Powell recently devoted himself to his life-long passions of cooking and writing. He grew up working in his father's catering business and put himself through law school by working at fine dining restuarants in New Orleans. He has over 20 years experience in the kitchen cooking for friends and family. In addition, he has received formal training through the Culinary Business Academy and attended cooking classes presented by Carlos' of Highland Park and Sheraton and Mariott Hotels.
His prize-winning short stories have appeared in literary journals throughout the country.
His mission at Joie de Cuisine is to provide customers with in-home dining experiences comparable in quality of food and service to that available in the country’s most exceptional restaurants.
The goal is is to tailor a menu and service to the customer’s wishes, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, preparation, and flavor.
